About VLTs in Prince Edward Island
If you’re looking for VLTs in Prince Edward Island, here’s the lay of the land. PEI’s video lottery terminals aren’t in casinos. You’ll find them in licensed lounges, bars, and similar age-restricted venues across the Island. We’re still building our full PEI venue list, so think of this as the quick orientation while that work wraps up.
Who runs VLTs in PEI
In Prince Edward Island, VLTs are run by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC), the same Crown agency behind the machines in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador. That means PEI’s terminals are networked to a central provincial system, not standalone machines owned by an individual room. It’s a different setup from casino slots, which are run by the casino itself. If you want the full breakdown, see VLTs vs slots and how VLTs work.
You won’t play these in a casino. PEI VLTs live in liquor-licensed spots: lounges, bars, taverns, and the like. To play, you have to be 19 or older. That’s the legal minimum across Atlantic Canada, and venues will check.
Playing responsibly, and what’s next
VLTs are built to be fast, so it pays to set limits before you sit down. If gambling stops being fun, support is free, confidential, and available 24/7. In PEI, call the helpline at 1-855-255-4255, or read our responsible gambling page.
